When in the wasteland

In the wasteland, a howling wilderness, He encircled [Jacob], He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. ~Deut 32:10-12

Even to your old age ... I will carry you and deliver you. ~ Is. 46:4

The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. ~Is. 58:11

And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. ~1 Kings 17:4

But you, oh Lord, are a shield about me; You are my glory, the One who holds my head high. I cried out to the Lord, and He heard me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept yet woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. ~Ps. 3:3-6

Holy God, there are so many whom we pray for who feel trapped, who feel as though they have no hope, who feel oppressed and pressured by outside forces that seek to destroy them. There are so many that find themselves in a wasteland, in a drought, but You are the God who fills the brook even in drought, and who sends the ravens with food. We are your beloved, the apple of your eye. Holy God, please be real to our loved ones who feel lost, broken, and alone. Fill them with a sense of Your presence. Comfort them with the surety that even though there are ten thousand enemies on all sides, YOU are there protecting them, YOU are their shield. Encircle these, may they know that YOU are their glory, that YOU hold their heads high. YOU WILL HEAR from Your holy mountain. In times of crisis, even for all of our lives. Father, You will satisfy our souls and strengthen our bones so that drought or no drought, we will be as a watered garden. Father, thank you that we are the apple of Your eye. Thank you that You love us so much that You care about finding us, meeting us where we are, encircling us, being our shield, loving us, delivering us. We love you Lord. Father -- you know whom I am thinking of now -- those broken, those wandering a wilderness. Lord, please, be there with them. May they know You are there with them. As the psalmist prayed confidently, even in the midst of enemies, may they know that YOU WILL deliver them. We praise your name, Holy God.
